Review

It is possible to ride the Woronora Dam pipeline service road all the way from Sutherland to the dam. I have decided to start this ride from Engadine, given that I live there :-)

This ride is nothing technical and easy going apart from the hill climbs. The start of the ride requires you to cross Heathcote Rd, a fairly busy road with poor sight distances at the crossing location so be carefully crossing. Once across Heathcote Rd you enter Heathcote National park and ride out next to the pipeline out towards the dam with plenty of hills to climb and plenty of descents.

The trail leaves the pipeline at about the 12km mark and heads towards the Woronora Dam Rd. Once meeting up with the Woronora Dam Rd throw a left and head east towards the Old Princess Highway. This is about 6km of concrete road. Once hitting the Princess Highway throw another left and about 1km down the road look for an access off to the right.

This access will take you out of the freeway and an unused bridge (the old way into Helensburg). Follow the old road into the back end of Helensburg and up to the train station.
