Review

Parts of this ride can be combined with the Engadine to Helensburgh trail to complete the ride from Sutherland to Woronora Dam. Also, just before the 6km mark it is possible to take a side trail and cross the Woronora River at a weir. This will take you into Lucas Heights and Bangor area for some more exploration or trail variation. I plan on exploring this area one day.

The trail starts from Engadine train station again riding through Engadine shops and taking some back streets down to the water pumping station. From the pumping station the Woronora Dam pipeline service trail is followed until just before the 10km mark. Once you cross Bundanoon Rd keep one ear open for dirt bikes as they frequent this section of the trail, I have never had any dramas sharing trails with dirt bikes so don’t let that scare you off. Just before the 10km mark take the trail to the right crossing a small timber bridge, you can go straight ahead here and ride down to Woronora and Sutherland. The only other navigation you need to worry about is a straight ahead at about the 11.5km and a right hand turn at the 13km mark.

Don’t worry to much if you take a wrong turn it as they will all lead back to public roads from which you can make your way bake.
