SMH Half Marathon (21kms – Oh Crap)
Call me crazy (because I think I might be) but Brendan has manged to convince me that running the Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon with him is a good idea, that’s 21kms, yeap that’s right 21kms. The event (as I am not going to call it a race, because my only aim is to finish) is on Sunday, 20th May 2007 so it looks like it is time to get into some serious training since there is only 68 days or a little under 10 weeks left to train. Leaving 1 week as a taper down, that leaves only a little under 9 weeks to get semi ready.
As long as I make the 11km 75min cut off I’ll be thrilled with what ever time I get. Not making the halfway cut off would be a little embarrassing. So I am going to train to make the cut off and rely on the thrill of the event to carry me across the line.
