Changing Web Servers
I have recently changed web servers to Jumba. I decided on going for a US based datacenter options in place of the Australian based datacenter option. The only factor that would make me decide (sacrifice storage space and allowable bandwidth) to base my website in Australia would be transfer speeds (i.e. website speeds), but with broadband and internet speeds these days I didn’t see any speed advantage in choosing an Australian data center over an American. So with that decided I looked around for a reliable server.
I used a couple of websites to search out and decided on a web server. Those being webtalk and whirlepool and there online forums (side track: whirlpool is a great place to go when looking to compare broadband providers). I find online forums are by fare the best place to get honest options and experiences on everything. I usually go straight for the bad experiences, as I am a little on the half empty philosophy when it comes to sales marketing (i.e. spin) and believing what people claim. Especially on the semi anonymous, there is no face to face accountability, internet.
In the end I decided to go with Jumba and there US P3 option. This was a step up of 900Mb from my last host and the up time of the server (fingers crossed) should be a lot better as well. The forum reviews where generally positive towards Jumba as well.
Here we go Jumba.
